Oco Geode Slice Wrapped In Coppper

Ocos formed some 130 million years ago and are primarily found in the Tres Pinheiros (Three Pines) region of Brazil, in the dark reddish brown soil called cascalho. This slice is exceptionally pretty with its milky whites and caramel and cocoa browns running through it.  All that is accented by the micro-crystals inhabiting the walls of the hole in the middle.  I saw this slice and immediately thought of wrapping it with copper wire.  This wrap is a first for me, as I used the 2nd wire in the bundle to keep the stone in place rather than the top (first) wire.  It was challenging to do this, but it allows for an interesting effect.  And the top is bold as well with an extra wide bail with the bail sweeps both starting on the left and sweeping down and across to the right.  I'm really happy with how this piece looks and how it turned out.  Hopefully the wearer will feel the same way and enjoy it.
